1    Born and raised in Texas, Elizabeth Gilliam attended Texas Tech University and Youngstown State University on an athletic scholarship in track.  She earned a Bachelor’s Degree and taught 7th Grade English before becoming involved with NAA.

In 2002, Liz realized she was broke and was determined to change her financial situation.  She joined NAA on December 11 of that year, and never looked back.  In her first month, Liz wrote almost $22,000 AP!  “NAA improved my life by giving me the ability to earn more than either of my parents ever made.  I like the fact that my husband and I get to raise our kids.  We are both home regularly with them.”

Liz credits Patrick Connors, her upline manager and mentor, for her success at NAA.  “Patrick encouraged me to learn things on my own.  He never let my success depend on him, and that was the best thing for me.”

Patrick considers himself fortunate to be the one who signed Liz up with NAA.  “When Liz Gilliam answered that newspaper ad at the end of 2002, my business was really floundering.  The speed and intensity with which she pursued the NAA opportunity not only surprised me, but also infused new life into our whole agency!  Barry Clarkson is right—‘we’re always just one recruit away from changing our whole business!’”

Liz was one of the company’s top ten producers four of her first five months.  No other agent in the Connors’ group had to grow or change more than Liz in order to become an Agency Manager.  According to Patrick, “Changing isn’t easy, but Liz is mastering the art—and she’s going to surprise a BUNCH of NAA leaders in 2007 because she’s committed to constantly improving herself.  I’m inspired by her progress, and I’m proud to be partnered in business with her!!”

One of the most valuable lessons Liz learned at NAA is to hit the ground running.  She advises all of her new agents to begin recruiting early, and not wait as she did.  “Do not say, ‘I want to wait to recruit.  I want to get to where I am doing great at this, and THEN bring some people on.’  You may not be a great sales person, but the people you know might be.  You might as well benefit from knowing them.  If you don’t recruit them, chances are that I will find them, and you will lose out!”

Liz’s plans for her future at NAA include “running a HUGE agency.  I aspire to be the number one writing agent.  I know I have what it takes to do it!”  She also aims to earn enough money to retire by age 55.  She, husband Greg, and their children, six year old Troy and four year old Jacquelyn, hope to spend more time vacationing in Garner State Park in Texas. During her “down time”, she enjoys watching football and is a big fan of March Madness.  As she continues to follow her dreams and reach the pinnacle of success at NAA, Liz remains both an inspiration and a force to be reckoned with!  There is little doubt she will continue to succeed.
