Tiffany Maiden was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She started working at a very young age because school was always a struggle. Suffering from severe dyslexia, she dropped out of high school in the 9th grade. “I felt like such a failure, trying so hard to no avail. It was then that I decided that nothing would hold me back from achieving my goals, not even a learning disability!”
At the age of 18, Tiffany started working for an insurance agent who assisted her in getting her insurance license. It was a new beginning for her and she was excited to be starting a business which she believed would eventually grow into her own insurance agency. She soon realized how mistaken her thinking was! Tiffany began to realize that she would need over 1,000 customers to earn $50,000 a year. “It really took the wind out of my sail.” At the age of 21, she decided to seek employment opportunities in other fields.
Tiffany spent the next 8 years selling natural gas in outside markets. She started out on a team of 9 and was the only female on the trade floor. “It was all cold calling and my first month I sold close to a million dollars in natural gas. My boss was floored. The very next week they promoted me to project manager. I headed up a sales team of 8 men who were all several years older then me, but that did not stop me!” Tiffany led the team in designing a marketing campaign to target various associations in the market. It was a tremendous success. But because she did not have a high school diploma, her career stalled. And when the company took a turn for the worse and there was a major lay off, Tiffany found herself unemployed.
Tiffany comes from a long line of insurance agents. Her grandfather and sister were both agents. Tiffany’s father, Kerry Maiden, also an agent, had been working for National Agents Alliance for a few years and encouraged his daughter to join the company.
Her first introduction to NAA was listening to the weekly conference calls held by Philip Hudgins, Andy Albright and Barry Clarkson. “The training that was given over the phone in one short hour was enough to know that this group of guys had the recipe for success!”

She was particularly impressed by one guest speaker, agency manager Ralph Simpson. She called him up and “explained to him that I was in Houston, that I had less then $15 dollars to my name and that I needed to make money and FAST! The very next day I had 15 B leads in my hand. I had never sold mortgage protection before, so I printed off the Hudgins script and made it my own. That first week I sold $8,500 in annualized premium. I was hooked!”
Tiffany was immediately impressed by the quality of leads she received from NAA. However, her road to success hit a speed bump shortly after it began. “Getting ready for an appointment late at night I went to my car and slipped and broke my foot. I was devastated. I had found this incredible opportunity and it came to a roaring stop.” But nothing could stop Tiffany! With the help of her mother Sharon, she made it to all of her appointments. “You can’t imagine how awkward it was showing up to a customer’s home with my mom in tow. To my surprise, my customers were touched by the fact that not even a broken foot would keep me from running appointments. I explained to them that they were the ones that needed to be protected and how important it was to make sure their needs were met no matter what! The best part was that I sold every policy!”
In 2006, just a few months after joining NAA, Tiffany attended the company’s National Convention in Dallas, Texas. “When the lights went down and the music pumped up, I realized that this was no ordinary company meeting! I knew that one day I would be on that stage. This opportunity is what I was born to do! It is like second nature to me to build a sales team.”
Tiffany immediately began to build her own team. “The pay off for me is that there are individuals within my agency that I am now developing into agency managers. That I can share this opportunity of success with others is better then any commissions I can make.” Tiffany and her boyfriend David are currently enjoying her recent promotion to Agency Manager. The duo, along with Tiffany’s beloved Maltese Layla, are finding time to travel to tropical destinations and enjoy spending time outdoors skiing and fishing. But Tiffany still plans to continue to work hard and prosper at NAA. She if effusive in her praise of Andy Albright, Philip Hudgins, Barry Clarkson, and her mentor, Ralph Simpson. “With out each of them none of this would be possible. NAA all the way!”
